The calm before the storm (Hurricane Irma)
Saturday…the day before Hurricane Irma is to hit Florida…I went out to find coffee, ice, cash, etc.
It was around 3pm and everything was already closed: Grocery stores, gas stations, convenience stores, etc., with the exception of a few smaller “Mom & Pop” convenience stores, which still had water, beer, snacks, and also had lines going out the door.
It was pretty eerie, finding nothing open, but I’m happy that people were at home, trying to get ready for the storm.
I took some photos, to show what a ghost town it is around here, “pre” hurricane. The super large, usually bustling parking lot, at the Walmart Supercenter, was totally empty.
I managed to get cash, with no problem at all. (Thanks Well Fargo.)
