I don’t want to wear what anyone else is wearing, be it clothes, purses, or jewelry.

I’ve been looking for a unique ring and found it last week, at a Jewelry Show in Orlando.

This ring’s main stone is a Swiss Topaz, which is a little darker than a normal Blue Topaz. Semi precious stones are set into the design work around the body.

I died when I saw this ring in the case.

I tried on other rings, but none of them came close to this one.

I left on Friday, and obsessed about it until Sunday, when I went back to the show and bought it!

I know there are skeptics out there, who think that Reality TV isn’t really reality and that it is actually “staged” events. I never really paid attention because it didn’t seem to matter one way or the other to me.

Until Episode 7 of Million Dollar Listing New York aired.

I have looked around on blogs and Chat Forums and no one else seems to have noticed what was really out of place in that episode besides me. So let me share my thoughts on how I think this episode was a “set-up” and not an actual reality moment.

In Episode 7, Real Estate Agent Ryan Serhunt is helping this difficult couple, Nick & Penelope, find an apartment in New York City in the $2 – $3 million dollar range. We are told they are extremely picky and have high expectations and they only want the best, because they have such exquisite tastes and demanding preferences for where they live.

Penelope is downright rude when being shown the various apartments by Ryan, loudly stating her hatred for Granite counter tops or too small of closets, etc. She has very particular tastes and she lets you know how displeased she is with her constant disdain of the apartments being shown to her. Within five minutes you really don’t like this woman and then I notice something that is really out of place…

I must preface this by saying that I am an admitted “Handbag ‘Ho” and since I buy and resell Designer and Luxury Handbags, I can look at someone for an instant and name what bag they are carrying (and usually whether it is a fake or not!)

As Ms. Penelope is bitching on and on, about how the apartments being shown to her aren’t up to her code of standards, I notice the handbag on her shoulder. It is none other than a Marc by Marc Jacobs Flash Leola Zip Hobo, that retails for $498!

Seriously Bravo? I can’t afford a multi-million dollar apartment in New York City but I do own several Chanel bags and even a Balmain. Every Real Estate Agent and Broker shown during this series all have Classic Chanel Flap Bags if not Hermes Birkin’s on their arms, whether they were at a party or an Open House.

But a “potential” buyer, for a $3 Million Dollar apartment, is carrying a $498 handbag? No Way.

I even gave Penelope the benefit of the doubt – I too have a less expensive Marc by Marc Jacobs Handbag that I would wear if I knew I was going to Wal-Mart. If I visit New York, I bring the big guns (Chanel) with me! I figured maybe Penelope didn’t realize they would be filming her that day, so she had left her Chanel or Hermes bag at home…Nope. The next day that Ryan showed them additional apartments (that still weren’t up to their “taste” levels), there she was, still carrying her $498 handbag.

I call Bullshit on Bravo and contend that these buyers were a total set-up. There isn’t one woman I know, who has money to burn, (or money enough to purchase an additional Million Dollar residence) that doesn’t spend some of her money on either Handbags, Shoes or Jewelry. Yet, there wasn’t a Chanel, Cartier or Louboutin to be seen on Penelope.

If I’m wrong, then I’d really like to see the contract that Nick and Penelope signed to purchase that $2-$3 Million dollar apartment, or the contract for all the customization work they would be adding to their new home!

I’m really surprised that even a low level Production Assistant at Bravo didn’t catch this obvious fashion/lifestyle faux pas.

The building was designed by Jean Nouvel and it is at 100 11th Avenue in Chelsea. The building has almost 1,700 individually sized colorless glass panes that are set at unique angles and torques. What is so creative about this building is that the windows are placed so that they each frame a spectacular view of New York City.

Of course I will never have enough money to afford one of these apartments but the fact that the windows create frames for the views would sell me on it in a second.

My College buddies from Colorado had sent me a care package, so my friend Alex and I headed to my family’s Cottage to hang out and hit some bars, over the State line of Michigan, where it was legal for us to drink.

As you can tell from these photos, we never made it out of the house that night!

I remember being really paranoid and thinking that if we went out that night, we would never make it back alive.

Our Cottage was right on Lake Michigan – only a short walk, over the dunes, and you were on the Beach.

As Alex and I sat on the darkened porch that night, I swear to God we saw Flying Saucers, dipping and spinning all up and down the beach!

Ok. So no one believed that we saw flying saucers, but I’m sticking by that story since I know what we saw that night!

This is also the first and only time that any of my photos have ever screwed up to the point they are. I have no idea why the flash didn’t work, or why there are lines going through the film. Could it have been caused by the flying saucers?!

Daylight brought our sanity back and we rested our weary minds by trying to get a tan down on the beach, although the photos didn’t come out much better the next day either.

And yes, we all had clothes on, for those who were wondering (because there is always someone who does wonder!)

While I don’t remember him visiting, he apparently did, because I just found a photo of him and my roommate Kathy and our upstairs neighbor, Cheryl, apparently while we were at Bunker Hill.

Bunker Hill was definitely a place that my Mother would have dragged us to, as a “must-see” destination, while she was in Boston.

I don’t think she was with us on this trip, so it scares me to think that I actually took someone to a lame tourist attraction like Bunker Hill, when they visited me in Boston! Sorry about that Grant!

Reading my diaries and finding photos from times/places I don’t remember much of is really hilarious to experience.

I love fashion, I love Photography and I love Music. Those words somehow work/come together when I write stories about my life in my blog posts. There are also thousands of talented photographers who have captured one special moment, in a Rock Legend’s life, through one unique photo. I love when I can look at another Photographer’s work and catch my breath at the images they captured.

So, how can I again draw a correlation between photography, music, and shopping?

Besides shopping for a lot of handbags, in my shopping travels I also find great items for guys as well. More often than not, those items are from leading menswear designer John Varvatos.

I first laid eyes on the Big Sister of this bag, on one of my trips to New York last year, and I even featured it here on my blog, in the Luxury Lust section. At the time I didn’t need another large bag with studs.

This time it was different…This bag was smaller, yet big enough, and best of all…it was on sale!

Music to my ears and yet another bag to add to my Luxury Collection.

I don’t really like the featured Brokers but do I ever love the visuals of New York City Real Estate!

In another life I would love to be a Real Estate Agent. I get the biggest thrill looking at different houses and now apartments. For a time there, a friend and I would spend weekends just wandering through new Model homes and obsessing over the amenities they showcased.

I had to make this first post about this show because I have comments about some things I saw on specific episodes, that I will blog about later.
